Slide background

The NeuroSuit is one of the pillars of our three-week intensive therapy program.  The NeuroSuit is worn for two-hour periods, and can be used either by qualified physio or occupational therapists. It is made of a vest, shorts, knee and elbow pads, gloves, shoe attachments and a hat if necessary. Bungee type cords interlock all of these pieces. These cords assist with proper alignment of the body and essentially frame the body from the outside (external skeleton).

Besides simultaneously assisting the client’s body to be in correct alignment, the bungee cords provide a comforting compression to the joints and distribute vertical weight bearing throughout the body. This sends strong messages to and from the client’s brain and central nervous system, which increases body awareness, and leads to improved motor planning. Muscle is built at a faster pace while learning is amplified to the central nervous system.

See faster results towards goals of improved motor skills from performing specific exercise and functional activities while in the NeuroSuit. This is carried over into daily life even when not in the NeuroSuit.

The NeuroSuit interconnected with bungee type bands, is the most complete tool available to:

  • Bring the body into correct alignment.
  • Provide compression distributed throughout the body.
  • Increase awareness of the body.
  • Provide resistance with every movement thus increasing strength rapidly.
  • Create NEW pathways to/from the brain allowing new or improved motor skills to be formed.
  • Provide dynamic correction of movements while reinforcing proper movement during skills such as walking.

NeuroSuit is suitable to treat the following:

  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Global Developmental Delays
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Near Drowning Accidents
  • Post stroke (CVA)
  • Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury
  • Ataxia
  • Athethosis
  • Spasticity
  • Hypotonia
  • Parkinson Disease
  • Chromosomal Disorders
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Any neurological impairment that will not make the condition worse with exercise or additional weight bearing

  • Re-trains the central nervous system
  • Provides external stabilization
  • Normalizes muscle tone
  • Aligns the body to as close to normal as possible
  • Provides dynamic correction
  • Normalizes (corrects) gait pattern
  • Provides tactile stimulation
  • Influences vestibular system
  • Improves balance
  • Improves coordination
  • Decreases uncontrolled movement in ataxia and athethosis
  • Improves body and spatial awareness
  • Supports weak muscles
  • Provides resistance to build muscle
  • Improves speech production and it’s fluency through head control and trunk support
  • Promotes development of both fine and gross motor skills
  • Improves bone density
  • Decreases contracture
  • Improves hip alignment through vertical loading over the hip joint.
