Sydney has always been intrigued by seeking out the answers to the ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ of life. This is especially true of her passion for the human body and the people that live in them. After earning her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Psychology from Iowa State, she decided a doctorate in occupational therapy was the perfect next step for her to expand her knowledge and love for helping people feel happy, comfortable, and independent in their bodies while doing their favorite things. She has had the opportunity to work with kids and adults at an acute hospital in Montana, spent time at a pediatric clinic in Alaska, and also compiled research and education on trauma-informed care within the pediatric population while in Denver. Through all of this, Sydney knew that working with kids and helping facilitate function and fun was exactly what she wanted to do every day! When she is not working at NAPA Center, you can likely find her listening to music and creating a playlist for any occasion, playing board or card games, spending time outside either by a mountain or a lake, and doing all of these things with the ones she loves most: her family, friends and her dog, Sunny!
