Schedule of Fees

As per NDIS guidelines, NAPA charges our services at the below standard hourly rate.

• Physiotherapy $183.99 per hour
• Occupational/Feeding/Speech Therapy $193.99 per hour
• Therapy Aide $50.00 per hour

Please note that DMI therapy may be delivered by either an OT or a Physiotherapist and as such, rates may differ. Most services have different time allocations.

Your intensive sessions cost will be dependent on how many hours per day your child is doing therapy and the type of therapy they are completing.

The rate for all individual intensive therapy sessions is $193.99 per session for OT and Speech and $183.99 for Physiotherapy. To calculate the total cost of an intensive, simply multiply the above rates by the number of days (typically 15) and the number of sessions per day.

Your intensive fee will be dependant on who is treating your child as different therapists may have different rates.

Each intensive will also have an additional charge of 1.5 hours for the Intensive Summary Report (which will also be dependant on which therapist is writing the report) as well as the Individual Program Development (IPD) charge which will be based on the duration of the therapy program your child is completing. For example, if your child participates in a 3-hour therapy program (eg. 1 hour OT, 1 hour Physio, 1 hour speech), there will be an additional 3 hours of IPD, charged at the applicable therapist rate.

Please note that DMI therapy may be performed by OT’s or Physiotherapists, as thus the charge may differ.

Additional charges may apply as below.

• All weekly therapy sessions are billed as 70-minute sessions, which include: 50 minutes of face-to-face therapy and 20 minutes dedicated outside the session for essential tasks such as preparing personalised therapy activities for your child, setting up and packing away resources and equipment, parent/carer handover at the end of the session & documenting your child’s progress and regularly updating care plans in line with NDIS requirements 
  • Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy
    Based on the current NDIS hourly rate of $193.99, a total fee of $226.00 is charged for each 70-minute session.
  • Physiotherapy
    Based on the NDIS hourly rate of $183.99, a total fee of $214.00 is charged for each 70-minute session.

   

  Please note that there will also be a 1 hour goal-setting session charged every 6 months (per discipline) of your child’s program where your child’s therapy goals will be updated, if there has not been enough time to complete these goals in your normal session time.

Goal setting is integral to paediatric physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology sessions as it provides a roadmap for therapists, families and clients to navigate the journey towards improved functionality and development of skills. Through collaborative goal setting, therapists can tailor interventions to meet the specific needs and abilities of each child, ensuring that therapy is both effective and engaging.

Therapeutic goals are a requirement for NDIS and are the key pieces of information used for funding allocation, thus are set with your child’s NDIS life goals in mind. By regularly setting goals and re-evaluating achievements towards these goals, therapists use this information to support funding applications through the NDIS.

Where possible we may be able to fit goal setting seesions into your child’s normal therapy time, however if this is not possible, Goal setting sessions will be charged in addition to your weekly or drop in sessions as detailed above.

• Therapy Evaluations (typically your first appointment with NAPA) are charged at 2.5 hours for OT and Physiotherapy, and 3.5 hours for Speech therapy.
• This price covers the initial appointment which will consist of one hour face-to-face time (2 hours for Speech therapy) and additional non-face-to-face time where therapists will interpret and document their findings and write specific and tailored 6-month goals for your child.
• If you require a written report following this evaluation, physiotherapy and speech therapy reports are charged at an additional 1 hour, and the occupational therapy report is charged at an additional 2 hours. Occupational therapy evaluation reports are more complex and subsequently take more time to complete. You will be asked if you require a Therapy Evaluation report during your initial appointment.

NAPA does not provide community sesssions at the moment however occassionally our therapists may need to travel to a clients home or community setting to conduct therapy, assessments, observation or consult with your child’s education or therapy team.

All out-of-clinic services will be billed based on the therapist’s time with the addition of a travel fee (for their time spent travelling to the appointment in line with NDIS guidelines) and an additional charge for kilometres travelled.

• NMES Units  – There are two options for take home NMES/Tases units that can be purchased for use at home. The Chatanooga NMES unit costs $800+ GST and includes, 3 packs of electrodes and a written home program from your therapist. The Chatanooga unit is the one that will have been used in your sessions with your therapist at NAPA.
• There is also a Cefar unit available, which is a similar unit that is still perfect for home use and costs $500+GST, which also includes the 3 packs of electrodes and the home written program from our therapists.
• Heel Risers – Individual Heel Risers are available (4mm or 6mm) for $6 + GST each.
• Keyguards – One customised keyguard costs $130 + GST + $10 delivery. An additional keyguard (same design) is available at the time of ordering for $20, meaning you will receive 2 keyguards for $150 + GST + $10 delivery.
• If you have previously ordered keyguards through NAPA, and require additional ones using the same design, these are available for $50 + GST+ $10 delivery.
• Standard Delivery is $10 in Australia, International delivery upon quotation.

• Resource Preparation – Occasionally your child’s sessions may require the creation of specific resources (such as a personalised home exercise program – HEP) or prior preparation for specialised or child-specific AAC. If this work is to be completed outside of or prior to your pre-arranged session times, it will be charged out at the applicable therapist rate. Once we are fully aware of your child’s needs, we will provide you with an estimate for these services.
• There may be some additional charges for your intensive if your child is deemed suitable for Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES), including Vital Stim and Task-Specific Electrical Stimulation (TASES). As these therapy styles are optional, this will be discussed up front with you by your therapist.
• Goal writing – As part of working under the NDIS, NAPA must create 6 monthly goals for your child. This ‘Goal setting session’ will be placed into your child’s schedule for each discipline every 6 months for those children completing regular weekly or drop in sessions at NAPA (1 hour charged).
• Phone consultations with families, support workers, therapy team or schools may be organised but will be charged at our hourly fee if anticipated to go beyond 15 minutes in duration.

• Additional Assistance – If it is deemed necessary for an allocated Therapy Aide or additional therapist to be assigned to your child’s session, this will be charged at $50 per session (Therapy Aide).

If you are looking to complete serial casting at NAPA, it will be charged as follows:

• Casting Evaluation – 1 hour
• Casting Process – 2-hour weekly sessions for 6 – 8 weeks
• Cast Boots Hire (for the duration of casting) $20 plus GST
• Plaster rolls $20 plus GST (amount depends on what is used)
• Soft cast rolls $20 plus GST (amount depends on what is used)

Once you have completed your initial casting evaluation, a total fee etimate will be given to you dependant on the casting duration (which ranges from 6-8 weeks) and amount of materials required.
