Clinic Director of NAPA Center and occupational therapist Lisa Murphy explains why using a vibration plate in our OT and PT sessions is both fun and effective. Specifically, we love the Galileo Vibration Plate because it has a side to side alternating motion that most closely mimics walking. Pediatric therapy at home could include using this tool to wake up the body!

Video Transcript:

Well, it’s no secret that we love the vibration plate here at NAPA Center. More specifically, we use the Galileo which offers a side-to-side alternating motion that most closely mimic walking. We love the Galileo Plate for three reasons.

  • 1: It’s fun across the age ranges, even mom and dad like to get in on the action!
  • 2: It adds a bigger bang for your buck with all the exercises adding a strengthening component, increasing muscle activity, strength, and decreasing spasticity.
  • 3: You can decrease the frequency in order to build range of motion with a gentle stretch.
